The Los Angeles Lakers announced today a new sponsorship with LA-based Beyond Meat.
Beyond Meat, a leader in the plant-based meat industry, will work with the team as part of the next chapter in its Go Beyond™ campaign aimed at engaging passionate and loyal sports fans coast-to-coast. As the new Official Plant-Based Meat Partner of the Los Angeles Lakers, Beyond Meat will collaborate with the team to create and share inspiring content, drive consumer engagement and offer unique opportunities to introduce fans to the delicious taste and benefits of plant-based meat.
“We are excited to welcome Beyond Meat as a new sponsor of the Los Angeles Lakers,” said Lakers President of Business Operations, Tim Harris. “They are an innovative and forward-thinking company with established and successful relationships with NBA players around the league. Anytime we can align with a company that is looking to improve the wellness of our players, as well as our fanbase, we think it’s a very good fit and we look forward to a great relationship with Beyond Meat.”
“Shifting to a plant-based diet has been a literal game changer, and I’m excited to have my two favorite LA brands partnering to make plant-based eating not only delicious, but accessible,” said JaVale McGee, Los Angeles Lakers Center and Beyond Meat ambassador.
In February, Beyond Meat announced its Go Beyond campaign, featuring a growing list of ambassadors and investors who align with the brand’s purpose, shattering expectations in pursuit of the extraordinary. This new sponsorship with the Lakers is a natural extension of the Go Beyond campaign to fuel athletes, engage fans and connect to the highly passionate Los Angeles community.
"Over the years, we've been fortunate to work with many of the world's greatest athletes as they explore Beyond Meat and the impact plant-based eating has on their performance, their recovery between games and workouts, and the broader benefits to health and environment. As an LA-based company, we are excited to team up with one of LA’s most iconic brands to engage our local community and further amplify awareness of our delicious plant-based meats that serve both body and planet," said Ethan Brown, CEO and Founder of Beyond Meat.
Throughout the 2019-2020 NBA season, Beyond Meat will connect with and reward Lakers fans, participating in community events and providing additional opportunities to connect with the brand and more. Fans can sign up for Beyond Meat's newsletter to get real-time updates on events, meet & greets, giveaways and more.
