The 2022-2023 season of the Lakers Literacy League is wrapped! Over 600 teachers participated in the program and we accounted for over FIVE MILLION minutes read. This season was the most successful yet!
The Lakers Literacy League is a free program for teachers intended to foster the joy of literacy in youth grades K-5 through engaging Lakers-themed challenges and creative projects. Activities throughout the program, which runs from October through April, are aimed to help youth find the fun in literacy, ultimately building community in the classroom. Participating members of the League are then eligible to win prizes for their entire class each month!
One special class also won a Youth Basketball Health & Fitness clinic. Mrs. Gregorio’s Third Grade class at Westminster Elementary practiced shooting, passing, and ball-handling drills, along with some fun games and fitness competitions. They also went home with Lakers Literacy League swag.
