In observance of September 11th, the Los Angeles Lakers had a TEAM UP event with 911 Day to turn a day of tragedy into a day of service and remembrance. Los Angeles Lakers Staff, Laker Legend Robert Horry, and Laker Girls joined together at LA Live to meal pack and support people who are food insecure in the Los Angeles community.
This day of service is recognized nationally where more than 20,000 other volunteers, representing hundreds of participating companies, governmental agencies, nonprofits, and schools, joined together in unity to pack over 6.7 million meals for Americans in need this year! In honor of the federally recognized National Day of Service and Remembrance, volunteers from the Los Angeles community worked as a team and assembled over 325,000 non-perishable meals to give, serve and help those less fortunate
Lakers Legend Robert Horry shared an important message, “911 Day is a tragic day but, on this day, we come together as a nation as the United States to bring these meals to the community. We let everyone know that 911 brought all of us together”.
As millions of people do good deeds on this day, it was the perfect opportunity to get out the office and make an impact in our community.
