LeBron James and Anthony Davis Named 2024 NBA All-Stars

LeBron James has been voted captain and starter representing the Western Conference for NBA 2024 All-Star Game. With his 20th career NBA All-Star selection, LeBron James has surpassed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (19) for most in NBA history.

Anthony Davis was named an NBA All-Star for the ninth time in his career (2014-21, 2024), including the third time as a Laker.  

This marks the 52nd occasion in franchise history that multiple Lakers have been named NBA All-Stars in the same season.

A three-time NBA All-Star Game MVP (2006, 2008, 2018) and the contest’s all-time leading scorer (426 points), James is set to start his NBA-record 19th consecutive All-Star Game. A seven-time NBA All-Star Game team captain, James has averaged 22.4 points, 5.8 rebounds, 5.8 assists and 1.2 steals in his previous 19 All-Star Game appearances.

In 46 starts this season, Davis is averaging 24.9 points 12.1 rebounds, 3.7 assists, 1.2 steals and 2.3 blocks in 35.9 minutes.  The 2017 NBA All-Star Game MVP has averaged 20.5 points, 4.8 rebounds and 1.3 steals in his six previous All-Star Game appearances.  

Starters for the 2024 NBA All-Star Game were selected by fans, current NBA players and a media panel. Fans accounted for 50 percent of the vote to determine the starters, while players and media accounted for 25 percent each.
