The Los Angeles Lakers and Pechanga Resort Casino have been partnered in honoring active military members across Southern California. This year, the Lakers and Pechanga invited 150 military members from Los Angeles Air Force Base and March Air Reserve, over three separate basketball clinics on the Los Angeles Lakers home court at Crypto.com Arena.
On November 2nd, 4th, and 11th the troops arrived at the arena and were met by Lakers staff and Lakers Legends James Worthy, Robert Horry, and Michael Cooper. The Lakers kicked off the basketball clinics with expressing their gratitude for the troops and families’ service and commitment. The basketball clinics consisted of drills, relays, and a friendly competition accompanied by Lakers legends.
After playing with Lakers Legends, Service Members and families received tickets to the respective games that evening where they were honored by Lakers staff, coaches, players, and of course fans.
The Lakers' Hoops for Troops program focus is to provide recognition and a night off for Service Members and their families. The Lakers and Pechanga have endless appreciation for the men and women serving and who have served and are looking forward to next year. In addition to Hoops for Troops, on Veteran’s Night, the Lakers recognized all who have served and are currently serving on their social channels, in-game recognition, and with their in-arena giveaway, a camouflage Lakers x Pechanga branded hat.
