Q: What daily activity gives you a great work out, even though it doesn’t seem like exercis

A: Surfing... I try to go every morning! Even though I don’t count this as part of my “workout” for the day, it is great exercise. Surfing not only works my whole body, but it also helps me to clear my head and relax, which is a very important part of leading a healthy lifestyle. The trick is to find something you enjoy doing and you won’t even realize you are working out!

Q: What do you eat on a game day?

A: Since game days are usually long, it’s really important I eat a well-balanced meal that will give me enough energy to make it through the day. For breakfast I will have egg whites, oatmeal, turkey bacon or fruit that is low in sugar. For lunch I usually have a turkey sandwich on whole wheat bread or a salad.

Q: What advice would you give to aspiring performers who would like to be professional dancers when they grow up?

A: I would tell any aspiring professional dancer to take different styles of dance classes, work very hard and never give up! When I was younger I was not always the best dancer in my classes, but I was an extremely hard worker and would always put myself out there. Sometimes I would succeed and other times I wouldn’t, but I never let my failures keep me from trying again. I feel that if you attack all challenges this way you will be nothing but successful in the long run.
