The NBA season has started! October has been such a fun month for us….with all of the pre-season games and we are so excited to welcome in the regular season!
Over the last month, we have been preparing with a number of preseason games in Ontario, Anaheim and our home court, STAPLES Center. Some of us even had the chance to travel to games in Las Vegas and China as well! Pre-season games are a great chance for us to perform together, as a new team. Being a veteran, it is so nice to be on the Lakers court again and to watch the excitement from the new girls as they perform at a game for the first time!

I had the opportunity to be at the preseason game in Las Vegas this year against the Sacramento Kings. While staying at the in Las Vegas, the Lakers put on a great event down by the pool of the MGM Grand Hotel, where the game was also taking place the next day. The event included a silent auction and a poker tournament that helped raise money for the Lakers Youth Foundation. We also got the chance to meet some of our Lakers Season Ticket Holders, which are the biggest fans – some of the people we met have been a season ticket holder for a long time! (since the Forum days) It was amazing to meet people that have so much love and support for the Lakers…..it seems we have such a huge fan base! The event was so much fun to be a part of, and was a great kickoff for the game the next day. There was great energy for the pre-season game in Las Vegas, it was very exciting to be there performing and cheering on our team!
Along with our preseason games, we have also been all over Southern California helping with various charitable functions. Through October, we have had the chance to help many different organizations and it has been unforgettable. There are so many great organizations that allowed us to help them raise money and awareness and I hope they enjoyed having us as much as we love coming to help out. It’s also always amazing to meet fans at these events and hear how much support the Lakers have from so many different people!
One organization that is always close to our hearts is the Lakers Youth Foundation. The LYF held an event at the Pechanga Resort and Casino and we were so excited to be a part of this night. On our way to this event, some of us Laker Girls fueled up at Carl’s Jr. before making the drive down to Temecula! Yummy! The event was decorated beautifully and was held in the Eagles Nest, which sits on the top floor of the casino with amazing views. Those who attended got the opportunity to bid on silent and live auctions, play casino games with some of our players, eat great food and have fun in the photo booths. We had a great time helping out with this event and are so happy it had a great turn out!
On opening night, we kicked off the season with a huge win against the Los Angeles Clippers! Opening game was a huge success and is a night I will always remember. We got to the arena early so that we could go through our dances and get ready together before the game got started. Even just in our locker room, there was so much energy and excitement! We were lucky enough to be able to perform at halftime for this game and even debut some of our new uniforms for this season. The game was a truly memorable one, as the fans energy was so amazing. Thank you fans for cheering on the team, we could feel the Lakers spirit everywhere. I can’t wait for the rest of the season and to continue to meet more Laker fans in the community. Keep that Lakers spirit up!
