Kupchak came to Los Angeles after spending five seasons with the then-Washington Bullets. After coming to the Lakers, though, Kupchak suffered multiple knee injuries that ended his season prematurely during the 1981-82 season. He would not return until the 1983-84 season, but he won two titles as a Laker and played a key role in the team’s 1985 title run over the Boston Celtics.
