The Lakers drafted Peeler out of Missouri with the 15th overall pick in 1992. He averaged double figures in points (10.4) during his rookie season, becoming the first Laker rookie to do so since Byron Scott in 1983. During the 1995-96 season, the 6-foot-4 guard led the Lakers in 3-point field goal percentage with a 41.3 percent clip.
