Nicknamed “AD,” Dantley played a total of 116 games with the Lakers over two seasons, averaging 18.3 points and 6.4 rebounds. He played alongside Laker greats such as Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Jamaal Wilkes, Norm Nixon and Michael Cooper, yet never advanced past the Western Conference Semifinals in his brief stint in Los Angeles. He shares the record with Wilt Chamberlain for most free throws made in a regular-season NBA game with 28.
