The Los Angeles Lakers celebrated a milestone this year when they hosted the 25th Annual Lakers Celebrity Golf Invitational and Dinner presented by Mir Audio Video-Bang & Olufsen. Held on Monday, April 6, 2015 at the world-renown Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades, CA, guests enjoyed a day on the course with Lakers Legends and celebrity golfers, and an evening VIP reception and awards dinner with the current Lakers team and Head Coach Byron Scott.
The event was the most successful tournament to date, raising $400,000 for the Los Angeles Lakers Youth Foundation (LYF), the official team charity of the Los Angeles Lakers. Founded in 1992, the LYF’s mission is to help underserved youth develop their potential by providing positive experiences and resources in education, health and wellness, and sports. The foundation is equally committed to making safe learn and play areas more accessible. To date, the LYF has funded a school teaching garden, 15 Lakers Reading & Learning Centers, and 31 basketball courts throughout Los Angeles and Hawaii. Lastly, the LYF also awards quarterly grants to local charities that offer youth programs closely aligned with the foundation’s priority areas.
