Kobe Bryant’s impact can not only be felt on the basketball court, it can be felt in the communities he has touched throughout his 20 year career. To celebrate this moment, the Lakers Community Relations Department is highlighting memorable Kobe moments in the community.
2000 to present – Kobe Bryant has been granting wishes via organizations like Make-A-Wish since 2000. Over 250 wishes granted 27/50 states represented Foreign Countries - Greece, Belgium, Netherlands, Australia, Canada, Jordan, Uganda, England, Iran and Israel Oldest Wish Recipient: 81 years Youngest Wish Recipient: 3 years His impact can be felt through the individual attention each wish recipient received. From shooting hoops to talking about the latest game, Kobe made sure to make his time with the kids and families unforgettable. #KobeintheCommunity
2011 – The Los Angeles Lakers host an annual Holiday Party for Kids every year to celebrate the holiday season. Kids from various Boys & Girls Clubs around Los Angeles were invited to the Lakers practice facility to celebrate the Holiday season with the Lakers players. Kobe Bryant couldn’t help but to partake in the fun and pose with a group of kids during the event. #KobeintheCommunity
2014 – The Lakers commitment to honoring and serving active and retired military personnel is highlighted each year on Veterans Day. Kobe Bryant participated in a shooting shirt exchange, with his teammates, where they each wore the names of an active military member on their shooting shirts.
