2015-16 Lakers Mentoring Road Trip
This February, the Los Angeles Lakers continued their support of the NBA’s “My Brother’s Keeper” mentorship initiative by conducting the 2nd annual Lakers Mentoring Road Trip. This year 4 mentoring pairs won the trip of a lifetime to visit the “Windy City”, Chicago! Congratulations again to Claudia Vargas, Gabriela Cortes, Edgar Villamarin, Ulises Reyes, Stephanie Aguilar, Diane Bravo, Matt Hoklotubbe and Oswaldo Martinez!
The trip’s highlights included sightseeing around the city of Chicago: University of Chicago, Wrigley Stadium, Soldier Field, Museum Campus, President Obama’s Chicago residence, Millennium Park, Lincoln Park, Hancock Building and the Sky Deck at the Willis Tower. The trip concluded with attending the Bulls vs. Lakers game at the United Center. As a surprise the mentors and mentees headed down to the court to high five the Lakers team when they came on to the court.
The 2nd annual Lakers Mentoring Road Trip was a blast for all involved! The winners had a chance to see a new city and see their favorite sports team in-action. Everyone brought back souvenirs, memories, and a greater appreciation for their relationship with their mentor and mentee.
Thank you to the Chicago Bulls and the United Center for being first class hosts!
