Season of Giving Presented By East West Bank: Thanksgiving Feast
To tip off the Lakers “Season of Giving” presented by East West Bank the Lakers hosted their annual Thanksgiving Feast at Hotchkin Memorial Training Center in Downtown Los Angeles. Families from the Los Angeles Fire Department, Mixed Roots, Asian Youth Center, Boys & Girls Club of West San Gabriel Valley, Boys & Girls Club of Pasadena, East Los Angeles Boys & Girls club, Salvation Army, Hillside, Maryvale, Los Angeles Unified School District and the YMCA of West San Gabriel Valley were treated to an evening of food and fun.
The night began with the Laker Girls escorting the families to their tables inside the Training Center and posing for photos while signing autographs for the attendees. As everyone began to take their seats, Nick Young and Jordan Clarkson arrived and welcomed the group to the annual Thanksgiving Feast. The players along with the Laker Girls, East West Bank staff and firefighters form LAFD manned the service line to serve the 300 guests. Lucille’s BBQ generously donated the delicious food, which included: turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes and pumpkin pie.
After the full meal the kids started a pickup game of basketball with Jordan Clarkson while Nick Young narrated the competition. After the short game, Young and Clarkson raffled off four pairs of tickets to the Lakers game on Christmas Day. As the night concluded the kids were in for a special treat from the Los Angeles Fire Department. Each kid was able to pick out their own special gift from LAFD, the toy options were endless. From basketballs to dolls and everything in between; each kid went home with something they truly enjoyed.
