Lakers Team Up with TreePeople

As part of the Los Angeles Lakers staff community service initiative, Lakers Team Up, staffers joined TreePeople for a morning filled with learning about and helping to maintain the health of trees at a local Inglewood Park.

This past April the Los Angeles D-Fenders, along with Inglewood community members helped to plant 33 trees at Vincent Park to celebrate earth month. Now that the hot summer months have approached TreePeople and the Lakers volunteered their time to give those trees the care they need to thrive during the heat by deep watering, weeding, mulching, fixing stakes and ties, and doing some light pruning.

In total 48 trees were serviced during the Lakers Team Up service day. Thank you to Tree People and the kids from The Social Justice Learning Center for the great help.
