#NYK70 | 1953: Harry Gallatin Sets Knicks Mark With 33 Rebounds in a Game

“The Horse” earned his nickname in part for his durability, and in part because he was one of the most dominant post players of the NBA’s early years. He led the Knicks into the 1952-’53 playoffs with a ferocious performance against the Fort Wayne Pistons on the final day of the regular season, ripping down a whopping 33 rebounds – a franchise record that still stands today.

Gallatin made his last appearance at MSG in the summer of 2015 when he was inducted into the Garden’s Walk of Fame.
