This Date in Kings History: Peja, Webber Power Kings Over Mavs

The Kings used an early 15-2 run to jump out on the higher-seeded Dallas Mavericks in Game 1 of the team's Western Conference Semifinals matchup on May 6, 2003.

"We knew exactly what we needed to do," said Kings center Vlade Divac, who had 14 points in 15 minutes. "It was beautiful."

The win was a big one for Sacramento, who won on the road for the first time in a Game 1 scenario in the Sacramento-era. "Our guys were really ready," said head coach Rick Adelman. "We really had a flow going. It makes it hard to guard us when it goes that way."

The Kings finished shooting 55 percent from the field and connecting on nine of 21 three-point attempts in the easy victory.
