SACRAMENTO, CALIF., July 26, 2012 -- The Sacramento Kings will open the 2012-13 regular season on the road for the eighth time in the last nine years when they travel to Chicago to play the Bulls on Wednesday, October 31st at the United Center (5 pm PST). The Kings return to Sacramento to take on the Golden State Warriors in the home opener at Power Balance Pavilion on Monday, November 5th (7 pm) in the first of a three-game homestand which also includes outings versus the Detroit Pistons (Wednesday, November 7th) and San Antonio Spurs (Friday, November 9th). Sacramento plays 10 of its 14 games in November at home.

Sacramento will be featured four times on NBATV during the 2012-13 campaign. Two of the outings will originate from Power Balance Pavilion when the Kings take on the Utah Jazz on Saturday, November 24th and again on Saturday, February 9th.

Notable teams making early Power Balance Pavilion appearances include the San Antonio Spurs (Friday, November 9th), Atlanta Hawks (Friday, November 16th), Brooklyn Nets (Sunday, November 18th), Los Angeles Lakers (Wednesday, November 21st), Indiana Pacers (Friday, November 30th), Orlando Magic (Friday, December 7th), Denver Nuggets (Sunday, December 16th), New York Knicks (Friday, December 28th), Boston Celtics (Sunday, December 30th) and NBA Champion Miami Heat (Saturday, January 12th).

  • The Kings handed the Los Angeles Lakers a 100-91 defeat in last year’s season opener at Power Balance Pavilion. It was the first time Sacramento opened at home in eight campaigns. This (2012-13) marks the second time in Kings’ history that the team has opened its season against Chicago. In the first meeting, Sacramento won a 100-81 contest over the Bulls on October 31, 2000, at the United Center.
  • Sacramento suffered a 79-101 loss to the Portland Trail Blazers in last year’s road opener at the Rose Garden on December 27th.
  • The Kings have played Golden State in the home opener just once (Sacramento era) when they defeated the Warriors 134-106 on November 6, 1987.
