Kids learn about much more than just basketball when they join Jr. Kings. Whether they participate in a clinic, camp, or league, they have access to the best coaches in the region, the most individualized and effective instruction, and all the excitement that only an NBA program can offer. Jr. Kings is committed to developing kids ages 6 to 14 as whole players, working with all skill levels to cultivate respect, sportsmanship, and work ethic in addition to mastering the fundamentals of the game. Equipped with these characteristics, kids are the best possible teammates they can be both on and off the basketball court.

It’s not just about bounce passes and lay ups, it’s about making the excitement and resources of the NBA accessible to kids in a way no other youth basketball program can. Whether at a one day clinic, multi-day camp, or an ongoing league, when kids join Jr. Kings, they’re part of the team.

    The health and safety of our fans, employees, players, partners and community is our top priority. Although in-person clinics are postponed for now, we’re looking into solutions that would allow us to help young athletes continue to stay active and have fun building their skills through virtual Jr. Kings clinics.

    We will be releasing more details about virtual Jr. Kings camps and clinics in the coming weeks. Register below to be notified once the virtual program has been announced.

    The coronavirus public health crisis has created a complicated and fluid situation that transcends sports. At present, we will not be accepting any additional Jr. Kings league partners.   • Justin Williams

    Coach Justin became the Jr. Kings Manager at the start of the 2019-2020 season and he is responsible for all aspects of basketball programming. Prior to joining the Sacramento Kings, Coach Justin played three years at Sacramento State University, where he was known for his defensive ability. While playing for Sac State basketball, Coach Justin left his mark in the record books finishing his career 2nd All-time in blocks and 9th All-time in steals. In 2011, Coach Justin began his coaching career as an assistant varsity coach at Fort Wayne Northrop (Indiana) and helped lead the team to 2 straight sectional championships. After Indiana, Coach Justin returned to California and began to coach at Ponderosa High School. While In his final season, Coach Justin was awarded the Foothill Valley League coach of the year and lead the team to its first league championship in 10 years. Coach Justin has shared his passion for helping kids pursue their dreams over the past 10 years through grassroots programs such as Compton Magic and Spiece Indy Heat. He’s had the privilege to coach, train and mentor various college athletes, McDonalds All Americans, and professional basketball players. He believes “if you always shoot for the moon, even if you miss; you'll land among the stars.”

    Jackie Wada

    Coach Jackie was born and raised in Sacramento, California. At the age of 22, she started her coaching career as the freshman girls head coach at Consumes River High School. She has also acted as the McClatchy High School Girls JV head coach. For the past 5 years, she’s been the head coach for the Baron Girls 2022. In 2019, she became affiliated with Jr. Kings as a coach and was honored with the Jr. NBA Coach of the Year award. In her personal life, she leads Wada Life Training as a skills development trainer. She found her passion in developing and growing student athletes on and off the court. She understands that the values taught through sports often help people succeed in the classroom, in their friendships, in their home, and in every area of their life. She genuinely loves to share her knowledge of fundamentals and help youth gain confidence not only as an athlete, but also as a strong individual.

    Glenn Maley

    Coach Glenn fell in love with basketball growing up in Melbourne, Australia. After moving to California at the age of 12, he attended Christian Brothers High School in Sacramento and helped the school advance to their only State Finals appearance in 1999. He went on to play at Dominican University in San Rafael, CA, eventually graduating with a degree in business from Sacramento State University. Although he had to stop playing due to injuries, Coach Glenn has found his passion in coaching youth basketball for over 20 years. He sees his role as a Jr. Kings coach as an opportunity to share his passion for basketball through positive coaching methods that teach kids about teamwork, hard work, and dedication in addition to the fundamentals of the game.

    Stacy Kawahara

    Coach Stacy was born and raised in Sacramento. She played team sports for her entire life, but basketball has her heart above all. She graduated from Sacramento State University with a bachelor’s degree in Child Development and a minor in Kinesiology. Coach Stacy has worked for the City of Sacramento Parks & Recreation for over 20 years with children from ages 5 to 12. She started coaching both girls and boys middle and high school basketball teams when she was 18 years old. Stacy’s favorite part of Jr. Kings is being able to give back to the community in a positive light, while still having fun. She loves to share her passion for the sport and enjoys helping children understand the fundamentals, while watching them gain knowledge about the game and confidence in themselves on and off the court. When she’s not on the court, Coach Stacy loves spending time with family and friends, and traveling the world.

    Shadi Kanaan

    Coach Shadi was born and raised in the Sacramento area. After graduating from Folsom High School, he began coaching in the AAU youth circuit. In 2015, Coach Shadi earned a master’s in Public Health from George Washington University and works in healthcare administration for the California Primary Care Association. During his free time, he enjoys watching TV and spending time with his family. Coach Shadi hopes to use his role with the Jr. Kings organization to help share his passion and knowledge for the game of basketball with children.

    Caleb Gauff

    Coach Caleb was born and raised in Sacramento and first found his love of basketball playing on a Fisher Price basketball hoop as little boy. His love only grew when he started playing basketball in the 4th grade with the Boys & Girls Club. Caleb graduated from Foothill High School before moving on to play basketball at Division III University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, WA. After two years, Caleb transferred to Saint Mary’s College of California, where he got the chance to help and practice with the women’s basketball team. Throughout his life, Coach Caleb has worked numerous basketball camps, both at the high school and college level. Caleb’s love of basketball has created many friendships along the way and has taught him numerous life lessons about teamwork, patience and hard work.

    Andrew Nguyen

    Coach Andrew was born in Sacramento. Although he grew up playing baseball, basketball and soccer, basketball was always his first love and he played high school basketball at John F Kennedy High School. Working with kids has always been Andrew’s passion and he strives to instill the work ethic that he was taught by his previous coaches. Coach Andrew feels that basketball teaches skills in life that will not only help children on the court but off the court as well. In his personal life, he loves traveling and learning about different cultures. Coach Andrew hopes that he can change someone's life with the game of basketball.

    Charlie Woods

    Coach Charlie was born and raised in Lansing, Michigan. His basketball career began at an early age and took off in high school where he led his team to the state semi-finals and ranked among the Top 10 players in the state of Michigan. He went on to play college basketball at Cleveland State University and made an appearance in the NCAA tournament in 2009. Following his college career, he began coaching high school basketball and participated as a coach in the AAU youth circuit for six years. Coach Charlie now shares his knowledge of the game by training individual players, including college athletes and a former NBA champion. He looks forward to continuing his work with young, up and coming players while sharing his passion and love for the game.

    Brian” Daz” Tillery

    Coach Daz has been playing basketball since he was 6 years old. In high school he was a 4-year varsity basketball starter at Monterrey Trail and Cosumnes Oaks High School and appeared in 2 section finals games. Currently, Coach Daz is the Laguna Creek Lady Cardinals head JV basketball coach and varsity assistant coach. Coach Daz is also a student at Sacramento State University with a focus in law and aspirations of becoming a sports agent. As a Jr. Kings coach, Coach Daz is able to share his passion and love of the game of basketball with the younger generation and give them the tools and techniques to further their game and reach their basketball goals.

    Haley Shaner

    Coach Haley was born and raised in South Sacramento where she started playing basketball and found her love of the game in the sixth grade. In high school, Coach Haley attended West Campus High School and was a three-time league MVP and All Metro player. After graduation, Coach Haley continued her career at Eastern Washington University on a full ride scholarship. She played there for two years before transferring to Colorado Christian University to finish her career. Through the years, Haley has made it a point to learn all five positions on the court to help her better understand and teach the game at a higher level. Coach Haley worked camps and clinics during college and eventually became head coach for the varsity AAU team after graduation. Haley has a passion for encouraging youth to find the best version of themselves on and off the court. Haley hopes to use her role with the Jr. Kings to help children find their love of the game.

    Christian Cave

    Coach Christian first started playing basketball at the age of 6. He went on to play his first two years in high school and acted as team manager his final two years. While attending CSU Monterey Bay, Christian volunteered as a coach with Gil Basketball Academy and was offered and accepted a coaching position with the AAU organization. Coach Christian graduated in 2017 with a bachelor’s degree in Human Communications and become an intern with the Jr. Kings program several months later. Following his internship, he joined the Jr. Kings team as part of the coaching staff. One of Christian’s favorite parts of the Jr. Kings program is connection he creates with young players.
