George Karl Joins the Dan Patrick Show
Giving Kings fans a glimpse into his past and present, and answering a few tough questions about the game and his career, George Karl sat down for a phone interview with Dan Patrick recently to discuss his new gig in Sacramento.
The veteran coach admits that he hasn’t quite gotten used to waking up at four in the morning pondering schemes, rotations and defenses, but knows the urge to coach again was the ultimate factor in his return.
“For me right now, it’s harder not to coach,” Karl told Patrick. “I’m too antsy, I just missed the basketball family and the juice of winning a basketball game.”
Karl, who enters his 26th year in the league as an NBA coach, joins the Kings for the final thirty games of the 2015 regular season. In his interview, he dishes on his plans, the trade deadline, his alma mater and his Coach of the Year hardware, as well as his impression of the River City.
“Sacramento has treated me very, very well and I am happy to be back,” Karl admitted.
