The Story Behind the Threads
The 2022-23 season marks the 10-year anniversary of the fight to keep the Kings in Sacramento.
For the first time in franchise history, the Kings uniform is gray, a color inspired by the iconic Golden 1 Center.
The front of the jersey features the word “Sacramento” set in a 10-year tin anniversary bevel.
The trim on the side of the uniform resembles the architectural elements of the state-of-the-art arena located in the heart of downtown Sacramento.
These words appear within the trim on the side of the uniform to symbolize the team’s connection with the city.
The uniform is complete with the iconic quote from then NBA Commissioner David Stern, “We’re going to keep this team in Sacramento,” located near the bottom of the jersey.
