Kings Q&A: Aaron Gray
The new Kings center takes a timeout to reflect on his arrival in Sacramento, the play of DeMarcus Cousins and more.
How would you describe the reception you’ve received from Kings fans?
“The fans have been great. They’ve been so supportive of all three of us since we got here and we really love them for it.”
What kind of adjustments have you had to make since joining the team?
“This time-change! I’m still trying to get used to it."
What do you think the team needs to do to continue to improve?
“Just being consistent and communicating well on the court. We need to do a better job defensively, but we’re also still getting to know one another, and when we do it’s going to be great.”
What are ways in which you can personally help the Kings improve?
“I think my size brings a great physical element to this team. I can use my body to screen for the other guys so they can make plays.”
What have been your impressions of DeMarcus Cousins and Isaiah Thomas?
“They’re both great to play with. DeMarcus is a great player and a complete power on the court. He’s a good leader and we really just follow his lead.”
What is it like working with the coaching staff?
“The coaches are great. They’ve done a good job of getting us up to speed and I like working with them a lot.”
Do you see yourself becoming a coach following your playing career?
“I would like to. I love the game and think I could make an impact.”
What hobbies do you have off the court?
“I like being active outside.”
