Boogie Returns But Kings Fall

After a promising three quarters of play, in which the Kings trailed by just three points entering the fourth, San Antonio used a 28-11 run to put the game out of reach and drop the Kings to 1-7 on the season.

San Antonio’s defense came to play in the fourth, limiting Sacramento to just 11 points in the first 10 minutes.

DeMarcus Cousins tallied his 200th career double-double with 21 points and 12 rebounds, while ex-Spurs guard Marco Belinelli added 17.

Rajon Rondo played all 48 minutes of the game due to injuries at the point guard position – both Darren Collison and Seth Curry were out - but finished with eight points, 12 assists and six rebounds.

  • San Antonio shot over 50 percent from the field, connecting on 46 of 87 field goals.
  • Marco Belinelli continued to be a contributor off of the bench, knocking down 7-of 13 field goal attempts against his former team.
  • Omri Casspi had another strong showing on Monday, with 16 points on 7-14 shooting.
  • Casspi, who led the League in three-point percentage entering the game, knocked down 2-of-4 from distance.

The Kings are hopeful Seth Curry can return to the court on Wednesday night versus the Detroit Pistons.
