Sensory Room

Experience our new sensory room!

We want all Jazz fans to feel at home when they visit Vivint Smart Home Arena, so we created a sensory room. The room is designed so that all of the sensory components work together to provide a safe space for individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities. This sensory room will be a place for these individuals to unwind, breathe and feel at home while they’re at the arena. Come check out the Sensory Room on Level 5 (between Portals LL and MM) during any arena event.

Vivint Gives Back is bringing families and technology together to make a meaningful impact in the lives of children with intellectual disabilities. Click here to learn more.

Sensory Room Features

"Sensory Processing" refers to the way our brains process the information coming in contact with our senses. For many people with autism—and others with neurodiversity—it may prove very hard to stay happy and productive if the space is too loud or too quiet, too cold or too hot, etc. With that in mind, each component in this sensory room focuses on stimulating or calming a specific sense:

  • Sight through different colors and lights.
  • Sound through music or water features.
  • Smell through items like oil diffusers.
  • Touch through things you can hold and feel.
  • Taste through items like mints, ice and candies.
  • Balance through kinetic movements.
  • Proprioception through things you can move, squeeze or chew.
