SALT LAKE CITY (November 2, 2011) – The Utah Jazz and KJZZ-TV announced today a new television program focused on memorable games from the franchise’s past. “Jazz Classics” premieres tonight on KJZZ-TV at 8 p.m. (MST) and can be seen weekly at the same time each Wednesday night. The 90-minute program is hosted by Jazz broadcasters Craig Bolerjack, Ron Boone and Thurl Bailey. The first episode of the series features a memorable matchup with the Los Angeles Lakers at the Salt Palace – Game 6 of the 1988 NBA Western Conference Semifinals.

“We are excited to revive some of the most important games in Utah Jazz history,” said Utah Jazz President Randy Rigby. “Our fans have always expressed an interest in being able re-watch some of their favorite games from the past, and we look forward to re-living those moments along with them.”

“Jazz Classics” features both vintage and new interviews about the games; fans will hear thoughts from John Stockton, Karl Malone, Jeff Hornacek, Mark Eaton, Thurl Bailey as well as current and former Jazz coaches Tyrone Corbin, Jerry Sloan, Frank Layden, Phil Johnson, Scott Layden and Gordon Chiesa during each broadcast. In addition, “Jazz Classics” includes former Jazz player profiles, vintage Jazz commercials and TV features.
