Jazz Announce 2016 Preseason Schedule

SALT LAKE CITY (August 3, 2016) – The Utah Jazz announced today the team’s six-game 2016 preseason schedule which will feature three home games at Vivint Smart Home Arena. The Jazz will play three teams, Portland, Phoenix and Los Angeles Clippers, twice each during the preseason. The team will start the preseason with three games on the road, opening at the Trail Blazers on Oct. 3. The first opportunity for Jazz fans to see the team play in Salt Lake City will come Oct. 12 when the team hosts the Suns.

Utah will open the preseason at Portland before playing at the Suns on Oct. 5 and the Clippers on Oct. 10. The Jazz will return home to play their final three games of the preseason at Vivint Smart Home Arena, hosting Phoenix on Oct. 12 before facing Los Angeles on Oct. 17 and Portland on Oct. 19. This year’s schedule marks the sixth time in seven years that the Jazz will host three preseason games in Salt Lake City. 

Two of the three teams on the 2016 preseason schedule were also on last season’s preseason schedule. This will mark the ninth straight preseason (2008-present) that the Jazz and the Trail Blazers will meet twice, including the abbreviated two-game 2011 preseason. It will be the third preseason in the last four years that the Jazz play the Clippers home-and-home. The Jazz will play the Suns for the third consecutive preseason.

Tickets for the 2016 preseason will go on sale Thursday, Aug. 4 at 10 a.m. at utahjazz.com, the Vivint Smart Home Arena box office, any Smith’s Tix outlet or by phone at (801) 355-SEAT.
