SALT LAKE CITY (November 19, 2015) – The Utah Jazz and Larry H. Miller Charities announced today that West Bountiful City has been awarded a grant of $25,000 to build a new community basketball court. This will be the 16th Utah Jazz community court that has been built or funded since 2001.

“It’s exciting for the Larry H. Miller Charities board to approve funding for a new basketball court to be built in a key place within a city,” said Jay Francis, president of Larry H. Miller Charities. “Not only does it align with the efforts of the Utah Jazz, but it is an investment in the community that will last for years to come.”

The West Bountiful City court will be built at West Bountiful City Park which is located at 550 W. Pages Lane (1600 North).

In August, the Utah Jazz and Larry H. Miller Charities announced grants for three new community basketball courts in Farmington (Farmington Sports Complex), Midvale (Bingham Junction) and South Salt Lake (Central Park). In addition to these courts, the city of Kearns will open up its new court in Lodestone Park this spring.

Other Jazz community court locations include: Sugarhouse Park (Salt Lake City); Smith Fields Park (Draper); Fisher Park (Clearfield); Taylorsville Recreation Center (Salt Lake City); Redwood Recreation Center (Salt Lake City); Miller Park (American Fork); Veterans Memorial Park (West Jordan); Palmer Court Housing Development (Salt Lake City); Neptune Park (Saratoga Springs); Ron Wood Memorial Park (West Jordan); and Bonneville Park (Ogden).

Funding for the project is provided by Larry H. Miller Charities, a nonprofit organization representing the charitable arm of the Larry H. Miller Group of Companies, along with the city where the court will be built. The community basketball courts are part of an ongoing commitment by the Jazz and Larry H. Miller Charities to support community outreach and health and wellness.
