Utah Jazz Announce Jan. 25 as Jazz Fit Night

Jazz-Pistons game held in conjunction with NBA FIT Week

SALT LAKE CITY (January 22, 2016) – The Utah Jazz will host their annual Jazz Fit Night, presented by University of Utah Health Care, on Monday, Jan. 25. The game, which is part of NBA FIT Week (Jan. 21-29), will feature Jazz players wearing NBA FIT shooting shirts.

As the Jazz host the Detroit Pistons at 7 p.m., fans will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of interactive activities on the upper and lower concourses of Vivint Smart Home Arena.

Activities include:

  • Stationary bicycles (portal E)
  • Vertical jump test (portal E)
  • Diabetes awareness (portal S)
  • Drunk driving goggles (portal T)
  • Vision screening (portal DD)
  • Operation game (portal MM)

Free fruit will be available to fans via a fruit stand located on the main concourse near portal R. Brochures that encourage fans to live a healthy lifestyle will be distributed at the Huntsman Cancer Institute table.

During the game, video will be shown highlighting previous Jazz Fit youth clinics, which are designed to help students stay active. Fans will also be able to participate in a 3rd quarter “stretch.”

Beginning Jan. 26 and running through February, Jazz staff, America First Jazz Dancers and the Jazz Stunt Team will hold 10 Jazz Fit clinics in pre-selected Salt Lake City area middle schools. The participating students will each receive a sling bag containing a water bottle, Jazz yearbook, pencil and a “stat card” with health tips. Five basketballs will be donated to each participating school.

NBA FIT Week involves all NBA and D-League teams, encouraging fans to team up with the NBA family to be active, eat healthy and play together.
