With the 13th pick of the 1985 draft, the Jazz selected Karl Malone out of Louisiana Tech University. Malone was touted, coming out of college, as a good player with a great NBA body but nobody would have guessed what he would become. Malone would go on to be part of the legendary duo of "Stockton to Malone" that led the Jazz to 19 consecutive playoff appearances, including two trips to the NBA Finals. Malone received many accolades during his career, including: two-time NBA MVP, 14-time All-Star, 11-time All-NBA First Team, three-time All-Defensive First Team, two-time Olympic Gold Medalist, two-time All-Star Game MVP, named of the NBA's 50 Greatest Players, and was inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame in 2010. The Mailman retired as the second leading scorer in NBA history with 36,928 points and will forever be remembered as one of the greatest and most dominant players to ever play.
