Grit Rail Jam
GRIT Rail Jam presented by Utah Sports Commission, Utah Jazz, and Cactus Jack, is Salt Lake City showcasing its roots in urban snowboard events at epic proportions. Don't miss this this two-day family-friendly competition and high-energy event all happening at The Gateway.
The two-day event, organized by Jeremy Jones in partnership with multi-platinum hip hop artist Travis Scott, will feature amateur riders on the rails from 2-5 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 17. Professional athletes, along with the top female and male amateur riders from Friday, will compete from 3-6 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 18 with medals and cash prizes on the line.

What is Rail Jam?
A Rail Jam event is focused on showcasing Snowboarding in an Urban environment. In general, the act is simply jumping up and sliding handrails, walls, or ledges that plunge down sets of concrete steps, or other beautiful city architecture. Professional Snowboarders, Men and Women, are invited to compete against one another. Rail Jams often are a Timed JAM style format (*jam- All Riders session course at the same time). Judges are positioned to determine the overall winners of the event, often based on overall impression.
What should spectators expect?
Rail Jams are an epic spectating event, packing in multiple features into a singular zone and letting 15-20 Athletes lose in the space, creating high energy and a lot of action. An announcer is in the field calling out live action and talking with riders and hyping up the crowd. The spectators are up close and on the front line to be part of this energy and athleticism.
How much does it cost to attend?
Grit Rail Jam is free and open to the public and is great for all ages.
