It’s that time of the year again and the Hornets hive is starting to buzz!

Media Day is filled with pictures, quotes and you guessed it, more pictures, but overall your Charlotte Hornets are ready to get the season started. Entering the 2015 season, the Hornets are introducing fans to a totally revamped team.

When speaking individually to each player, they all seemed to share a common goal - building chemistry and joining together as a team. While no one spoke on individual personality, Coach Clifford said it best, “When you’re a pro basketball player, with the skill set and IQ, learning to play with a new group of guys isn’t hard. It shouldn’t take you weeks. You’re a pro.”

With Al Jefferson leading the team at the young age of 30, he’s also the oldest, but he doesn’t let his age deter him from his role as a leader and serious threat for this young Hornets team. “I’m the oldest at 30” Jefferson laughed, “but I know what I have to do for this team and I know as a veteran, I will have to lead. I lost the weight I needed to, to have longevity in this league. I have seen players like Tim Duncan who did what was necessary for the betterment of his team and his health, and I looked at him as inspiration”.

Probably the most energy came from newly acquired point guard, Jeremy Lin. It’s hard to imagine people not already knowing who he is. The media was excited to get a chance to talk to him and he definitely charmed.

Lin is coming to a team that noticeably has their starting point guard with Kemba Walker, but that doesn’t stop him from wanting to help his team however possible. Coach Clifford stated that any new talent that comes to Charlotte can look for more time on the court if it helps the team, which excites Lin. “Who doesn’t want more time on the court?”, he jokes. Lin coming to Charlotte seems to be a good fit for this growing team looking for its identity and of course, anyone needing help gelling their hair.

The Charlotte Hornets, while not new to the league, are still in search for who they are amongst an ocean of big-name teams. Chemistry is big for this team. With their upcoming trip to China, they are looking forward to spending time with each other and getting more personally acquainted.

Fans certainly have a lot to look forward to with this young and fresh team. Most importantly fans can expect a team that’s committed to each other, devoted to their fans, and strongly dedicated to winning.

Are you feeling buzzed yet?!?!
