Hugo
As the “A-List” Hornet in the Hive, Hugo brings the energy and excitement that brings out the “buzz” on gamedays. Born on November 4, 1988, when the Hornets opened their inaugural season and named by Hornets fans, Hugo is a four-time winner of the NBA Mascot Slam Dunk Championship and a two-time winner of the NBA Best Mascot Award presented by NBA Inside Stuff. He was even one of four mascots to appear as hidden players in 1994’s classic video game, NBA Jam: Tournament Edition! Though he left to take early retirement from Charlotte in 2002 when the team moved cities, Hugo realized that his true calling was back in Buzz City entertaining his admirers. He immediately packed his J’s and “flew” back to rejoin his team once again upon their return to Charlotte on June 5, 2014.
Along with entertaining Hornets fans at Spectrum Center, Hugo also serves as an ambassador for the team, making hundreds of appearances in the Charlotte community each year. He has a special focus on the importance of education and reading.

Hugo may be cute and fluffy, but when he needs to make the crowd soar, he unleashes his alter ego, Super Hugo! He flies through the air throwing down acrobatic and thunderous dunks to crank up the intensity and get the Hive hyped.
