2023 Honey Bees Auditions


Must be at least 18 years old as of May 26, 2023

Must have proper audition attire

Must be available for Bee Camp and Finals (various days from June 4 – June 13)



Fitness Workout with Bonus Sideline Dance

When:  May 10 @ 7pm - 9pm

Get expert advice on how to prepare for auditions from the Honey Bees and take a dance-inspired workout.  Also learn a bonus Honey Bees sideline dance. Must be at least 18 to participate.

Dance & Technique class

When:  May 25 @ 7pm to 9pm

Where: Spectrum Center, 5th Street Entrance

Learn choreography similar to what will be taught at auditions.  Must be at least 18 to participate.


Audition Schedule

* Auditions will be a mix of virtual submissions and in-person rounds.

* Round 1 application and video submission – May 26 through May 30.

* You will be notified via email if you move on to Round 2.

* Round 2 Choreography & Judging (in-person) – June 4.

* Bee Camp (in-person) – various days between June 6 and June 12.

* Contract Signings – June 20

* TBA Event - June 22

In addition to the application you must also submit the following:

* Full-length photo

Submit a recent full-length photo in athletic wear in Hornets colors.

Do not use a photo that has a filter applied or that has been edited.

* Headshot

Submit a close-up favorite photo (does not need to be taken professionally).

Do not use a photo that has a filter applied or that has been edited.

* Video submission

0:30 second elevator-pitch style video introduction.  Make sure to note any special skills and talents!

One-minute max, free-style dance to song of your choice (make sure lyrics of song are clean).

Film your video horizontal and with good lighting.  Formal dance space not required.

We suggest attending at least one of our prep classes to prepare you for the audition process.

Advanced dance skills are recommended.

Athletic wear with a “Hornets vibe”.  Outfit should utilize Hornets colors.  Be creative, be unique, and show your love for Buzz City.

Please be game-ready and film your videos and photos with your hair styled and your makeup on.

Yes, Honey Bees are paid for home games, appearances, and rehearsals.

This is a part-time job. Dancers must be able to commit to a full NBA game schedule as well as two to three rehearsals per week from September 2023 through July 2024. If you are unable to commit to rehearsals and games you should not audition.

Exciting photo shoots, international travel, team-building events, opportunity to participate in charitable events, tickets to Hornets games, just to name a few!

Following our first rounds of auditions, candidates will be notified of our Bee Camp schedule. You should be prepared to attend all events of Bee Camp.
