Teacher Innovation Fund

The Charlotte Hornets Foundation and Fox Sports Southeast awarded the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Public Schools Foundation with a $250,000 donation to establish the Teacher Innovation Fund in June 2014. The Teacher Innovation Fund empowers and supports the implementation of innovative strategies to educate and prepare every student to graduate college and career ready in the 21st century. Teacher Innovation Fund grants are awarded in November and April.

Hornets Education Grants

The Charlotte Hornets Foundation awards $50,000 annually to enhance education programs in Mecklenburg County. The Education Grants program funds high-need education-related projects at public schools and nonprofit education programs in the Charlotte area. Public schools and nonprofit organizations that support public education in Mecklenburg County are eligible to apply.

Veteran Internship Stipend Program

The Charlotte Hornets Foundation and Fox Sports Southeast donated $200,000 to Central Piedmont Community College’s (CPCC) Veteran Employment Fund to establish the Veteran Internship Stipend program. This program allows veterans to pursue internships for academic credit while earning an hourly wage to help support themselves and their families. Stipends are awarded for both fall and spring semesters.

Equipment Donation Program

The Charlotte Hornets Foundation's wellness initiative empowers our community to live healthy and happy lives by promoting and developing programs that encourage nutrition, healthy living and exercise.

Through the Equipment Donation Program, the Charlotte Hornets strives to increase accessibility to sports and physical activity programming by providing brand new sports and fitness equipment to those in need. The foundation will award a total of $25,000 in equipment grants to deserving organizations in North and South Carolina.
