HEAT to Host 18th Annual Family Festival on February 22nd

MIAMI – The Miami HEAT will be hosting “HEATapalooza” during the 18th Annual Miami HEAT Family Festival, presented by Carnival Cruise Lines. Proceeds from the interactive celebration benefit local South Florida charities and the Miami HEAT Charitable Fund. The event will take place on Sunday, February 22nd from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Parcel B by the Bay behind the AmericanAirlines Arena, located at 601 Biscayne Boulevard in downtown Miami. With this year’s event, the Miami HEAT Charitable Fund is aiming to surpass the $10 million mark of monies raised from this event alone.

“HEATapalooza” will be a music festival themed extravaganza for the whole family as fans of all ages enjoy the open-air concert vibe while spending time with their favorite HEAT players. Parcel B by the Bay will be transformed into a live music venue featuring Dangerflow, Astro Cats, Sound Junkies, The 18 Wheelers and other local artists on multiple stages, as well as delicacies from more than 40 of South Florida’s finest restaurants.

In addition to interactive opportunities with the entire Miami HEAT team and coaching staff, fans will enjoy appearances by DJ Irie, the Miami HEAT Dancers, HEAT Mascot Burnie, In-Arena P.A Announcer Michael Baiamonte, the Golden Oldies, HEAT Banana Man, a silent auction and much more.

Miami-Dade County Animal Services Department and the Miami HEAT Charitable Fund will be offering pet lovers the opportunity to adopt a beautiful, lovable cat, dog, kitten or puppy at the Festival. Adopters will be able to take home a furry new family member that is spayed/neutered, vaccinated, micro-chipped and ready to go to a forever home.

The Miami HEAT Charitable Fund was established in 1997 and is comprised of the Miami HEAT players, coaches, wives and staff. Establishing its presence in the South Florida community, the HEAT “family” has been able to generate critical dollars through unique fundraising programs for the betterment of at risk families.
