15th Annual Share Family & HEAT Academy Toy Giveaway

For the 15th year and in celebration of the holiday season, the Miami HEAT teamed up with the Share Family to provide toys and gifts to children of the South Florida community from each of our three HEAT Academy schools. In remembrance of HEAT Season Ticket Member since 1988, Larry Share, and in continuation of his legacy, the Share Family were joined by HEAT Mascot Burnie, Uptown Dale and the Hoop Troop to provide gifts and toys to the students. HEAT legend, Alonzo Mourning, was on-hand to assist with the toy drive at Paul Laurence Dunbar K-8 Center. Papa John’s Pizza and beverages were also provided to the students.

Through its flagship social responsibility initiative, HEAT Academy, the Miami HEAT has embraced the importance of providing children in South Florida with the opportunity to have a quality after-school program with an academic purpose at its core. The HEAT Academy’s primary goal is to provide economically disadvantaged students who are most at risk of academic failure or juvenile delinquency with a program of after-school tutoring and academic enrichment.
