HEAT to host 19th annual Family Festival on MARCH 20TH

Surprise Performances, 90’s Themed Family Activities, a Food Court and a Silent Auction

MIAMI – The Miami HEAT will host the 19th Annual Miami HEAT Family Festival, presented by Carnival Cruise Lines, an interactive celebration benefitting local South Florida charities and the Miami HEAT Charitable Fund, on Sunday, March 20th. The event will take place from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on the XFINITY East Plaza at the AmericanAirlines Arena, located at 601 Biscayne Boulevard in downtown Miami. With this year’s event, the Miami HEAT Charitable Fund is aiming to surpass the $10 million mark of monies raised from this event alone.

The “90’s Throwback HEAT” themed event will be a music festival extravaganza for the whole family as fans of all ages enjoy the concert vibe while spending time with their favorite HEAT players. The XFINITY East Plaza will be transformed into a an “everything 90’s” playground, with delicacies from more than 40 of South Florida’s finest restaurants provided. Accompanied by the Miami HEAT players on stage, a surprise musical guest from the 90’s era will also be in attendance to perform in the finale of the event.

In addition to interactive opportunities with the entire Miami HEAT team and coaching staff, fans will enjoy appearances by DJ Irie, the Miami HEAT Dancers, HEAT Mascot Burnie, In-Arena P.A Announcer Michael Baiamonte, the Golden Oldies, a silent auction and much more.

Miami-Dade County Animal Services Department and the Miami HEAT Charitable Fund will be offering pet lovers the opportunity to adopt a beautiful, lovable cat, dog, kitten or puppy at the festival. Adopters will be able to take home a furry new family member that is spayed/neutered, vaccinated, micro-chipped and ready to go to a forever home.

About The Miami HEAT Charitable Fund
The Miami HEAT Charitable Fund was established in 1997 and is comprised of the Miami HEAT players, coaches, wives and staff. Establishing its presence in the South Florida community, the HEAT “family” has been able to generate critical dollars through unique fundraising programs for the betterment of at risk families.
