MIAMI – The Miami HEAT hosted its 10th annual Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration in the heart of Little Havana at the oldest high school in the county, Miami Senior High School this past Saturday, October 24, 2015. Presented by PepsiCo and supported by Florida Blue and FOX Sports Sun, the celebration involved Miami HEAT players and talent interacting with over 300 children and 700 guests in a variety of activities including a basketball clinic, tug of war, kickball and volleyball.

Additionally, the celebration included a check presentation in the school’s auditorium representing a $50,000 donation from the Miami HEAT Charitable Fund to the Kiwanis of Little Havana and Amigos for Kids.

At the celebration, the Miami HEAT also hosted a youth basketball clinic in honor of the NBA’s first ever Jr. NBA Week that ran from October 19th through October 26th. The Jr. NBA is the NBA’s youth basketball program designed to teach the fundamental skills and values of basketball to boys and girls ages 6-14 and to develop a lifelong passion for the game.
