Veterans Career Readiness Workshop
The Veterans Career Readiness Workshop, in partnership with Georgia Power, is a transformative initiative empowering military veterans as they transition to civilian careers. This program is designed to equip veterans with essential skills, resources, and support needed to succeed in today's competitive workforce.
Through targeted career development services, veterans gain access to personalized job readiness training, including guidance on resume building, interview preparation, and networking opportunities. By partnering with Georgia Power, we offer a diverse slate of upskilling and reskilling workshops tailored to the evolving needs of industries, such as energy, technology, and business, ensuring veterans gain the qualifications today's employers seek.
With Georgia Power's partnership, we are committed to building meaningful employment pathways that honor veterans' service and bridge the gap between military experience and civilian career goals. Our mission is to guide veterans confidently toward a successful career journey, empowering them to make an impactful transition into the workforce.
Salute to Success - Veteran's Career Fair
The Atlanta Hawks and Georgia Power, in partnership with the Veterans Readiness and Employment Office of the VA, proudly host the Salute to Success Veteran's Career Fair. This event is dedicated to empowering Atlanta's veteran community by connecting them with career opportunities that leverage their unique skillsets and transferable experience.
During the career fair, local organizations with a commitment to hiring and supporting veterans are onsite to engage with attendees, discuss career options, and facilitate meaningful employment connections. Last season, Salute to Success welcomed over 200 veterans, with 30+ companies in attendance, underscoring our commitment to creating pathways to employment for our nation's heroes.
She Leads Financial Wellness Program Day
Sponsored by Georgia Power, the Financial Wellness Program Day within the She Leads Women's Empowerment Program is an essential element of the broader She Leads curriculum. Dedicated to enhancing financial literacy, this day delves into critical topics such as Personal Finance, Salary Negotiation, and Deal Negotiation.
Through these sessions, She Leaders gain an in-depth understanding of financial concepts, strengthening their confidence and skills for future financial decisions. Additionally, they receive follow-up resources to support continued growth in financial knowledge, empowering them to make informed, impactful financial choices.
HBCU Pathways Program Internships
The HBCU Pathways Program, presented by Georgia Power, is a 10-week paid internship experience designed to provide meaningful career development opportunities in the sports and entertainment industry for undergraduate students from Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). This program provides interns with hands-on experience across multiple departments, including Ticket Sales, Global Partnerships, IT, Community Impact, Marketing, among others, giving them a comprehensive view of the business side of sports.
The HBCU Pathways Program offers students a summer internship from June to August, focusing on nurturing talent from HBCUs and building pathways to long-term careers in the sports industry.
