COVID-19 Health and Safety Protocols

The health and safety of our partners, players, performers, fans, and staff continues to be our top priority. State Farm Arena is committed to taking the following safety measures and more during all Atlanta Hawks basketball games, concerts, and events in our venue.

Safety Standard - State Farm Arena

PARTNER APPROVAL

The "Safety Six" protocols were established to help mitigate the spread of COVID-19 for the return of Hawks fans to the award-winning State Farm Arena. Each protocol of our Hawks Safety Standard was developed in collaboration with the respective health and wellness experts at our partner organizations at Emory Healthcare and Sharecare.

1. Limited Capacity & Physical Distancing

  • State Farm Arena has partnered with Ticketmaster to determine appropriate bowl spacing that allows for 6 ’ social distancing between guests particular to each event.
  • State Farm Arena has also partnered with architecture firm HOK to develop the safest possible queuing strategies and social distancing methodologies for all arena spaces, including premium, back of house areas, restrooms, food & beverage locations, and concourses.
  • State Farm Arena will be incrementally allowing fans back to the Arena, starting at no more than 500 guests for the start of the regular season. *subject to change.
  • Physical distancing reminder signage will be placed in addition to floor decals to keep 6-foot distance in queuing lines.
  • Please stay at least 6 feet away from other people and do not gather in groups.

2. Mandatory Face Coverings

  • Fans in screening areas and inside State Farm Arena will be required to wear face coverings that cover the nose and mouth other than when eating or drinking in their seats.
  • All employees are required to wear face coverings that cover the nose and mouth.
  • Children under 2 years of age will not require a face covering.
  • Neck gaiters, bandanas, and masks with valves or vents are not permitted.

3. Contactless Entry, Screening & Transactions

  • All guests will be required to take a pre-arrival screening using the CLEAR Health Pass. Anyone with symptoms should stay home. For guests within 30’ of the court, both an at-home and on-site rapid test option will be available. Click here to Learn More
  • Mobile tickets will be used for entry into State Farm Arena. You can view your tickets through Hawks Account Manager or your Ticketmaster Account.
  • State Farm Arena will be a cashless environment. Card payment will be required at all ticket, food & beverage, and retail locations. We suggest contactless payments such as tap to pay, contactless Chase cards.
  • X-ray scanners have been staged at all entrances to reduce touchpoints for bag checks. Bags must meet the 14” x 14” x 6” size requirement.
  • Parking can be reserved in advance with ParkMobile.

4. Touchless Hand Sanitizer Stations & Restroom Fixtures

  • Touchless hand sanitizer stations with alcohol-based sanitizer will be available throughout the arena.
  • Touchless fixtures have been installed in all State Farm Arena restrooms to eliminate touchpoints in restrooms
  • Wash hands frequently for 20 seconds with soap and water or use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer.

5. Robust Cleaning and Disinfecting Procedures

  • In partnership with Pritchard Sports & Entertainment, State Farm Arena’s housekeeping team has developed robust infectious disease prevention practices including but not limited to:
    • Adding additional team members during events to increase wipe down frequency in restrooms and high-touch areas.
    • Cleaning/sanitizing efforts implemented with Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) approved cleaning and disinfecting products.
    • Drones will be employed to quickly sanitize the bowl areas after and between events.
    • State Farm Arena is pursuing the WELL Health-Safety certification. This rating provides an efficient and effective opportunity to guide, validate, recognize and scale the efforts of owners and operators on critical health and safety issues.

6. Safe Food and Beverage Distribution Practices

  • Food & Beverage distribution points will all be equipped with protective acrylic shields.
  • Concession food items will be packaged to minimize exposure
  • Eating/drinking is restricted to assigned seats only.
  • Simplified menus will be offered in select locations in the general concourse. Packaged beverages will be used. Cocktails will have lids and no garnish.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will there be temperature check required to attend Hawks games?
No. Temperature checks will not be done for guests entering State Farm Arena for Hawks games.

All State Farm Arena employees must complete a virtual health form provided before entering the building followed by a temperature screen. More info here.
Am I required to wear a mask in the arena?
Yes. All attendees are required to wear a face covering that covers the nose and mouth and adhere to social distancing rules while in the arena.

Guests will be required to wear masks unless they are eating/drinking in their seats.

Neck gaiters, bandanas, and masks with valves or vents are not permitted.
Are children required to wear a mask in the arena?
Children 2 years and older are required to wear a mask. Children under 2 years old are not required to wear a mask.

Am I required to get a COVID test prior to attending a game?
Any guest within 30 feet of the court will need to undergo and return a negative Covid-19 test within 48 hours prior to tip off. Ticket holders who fall in the Yellow Zone and have access to Delta SKY360° Club will be contacted directly will be contacted directly with more details.
How many home games will there be this season?
At this time, there are 36 Hawks home games planned for the 20–21 season.
Can I get a refund for my ticket if I am denied entry due to my health survey or Covid test results?
You can receive a ticket credit and/or refund by visiting the point of purchase.
Can I get a refund for Parking if I am denied entry due to my health survey or Covid test results?
You can receive a ticket credit and/or refund by visiting the point of purchase.
Will there be a price increase in tickets for this year?
No, a price increase is not planned for the 20-21 season.
How many tickets will I be allowed to purchase?
Tickets will be limited based on social distance seat map.
Can I get a refund for my tickets if a game is canceled or postponed?
Yes, refund and/or ticket credit options will be available in these circumstances so there is no loss of value to the ticket buyer.
Can I transfer tickets, or will there be a re-sale market for my tickets if I cannot use them?
Yes, transfer and re-sale options will continue to be provided. Tickets must be posted for sale and purchased in complete seat blocks. No partial seat blocks will be permitted to purchase or post for re-sale.
How will the in-game experience change at State Farm Arena?
While final numbers have yet to be determined, there will be a reduced number of fans allowed at each game. Fan movement around the arena may also be restricted to designated areas out of an abundance of caution.
Will there be food for purchase at Hawks games?
Yes, select food options will be available at each game through a contactless payment and ordering.

All concession items will be packaged to minimize contact.
Will the Hawks Shop be open for the purchase of souvenirs on game nights?
The Hawks Shop will re-open when ticketed fans return to the arena.

The Hawks Shop Retail truck stationed in front of box office for holiday curb side pickup and throughout Hawks season for fans not in attendance during home Hawks games.

Will Harry the Hawk and the Hawks Dancers be at the games?
While our Hawks entertainment groups will not be allowed to perform on the court, they will still be featured at Hawks games.
Is halftime entertainment still planned for Hawks games?
Details are forthcoming, but the Hawks Entertainment group is working hard to ensure a comparable experience in the spirit of what has made the Atlanta Hawks the top game experience in the NBA.
Will Topgolf and the SWAG Shop be open during games?
It has not yet been determined when the SWAG Shop and Topgolf amenities will reopen
