Hawks Announce Ryan Cameron Night On Dec. 17

ATLANTA -- The Atlanta Basketball Club has designated its Dec. 17 game against the Charlotte Hornets as Ryan Cameron Night in honor of the team’s popular Public Address Announcer. Also the host of The Ryan Cameron Morning Show with Wanda Smith on V-103 radio, the multi-faceted on-air personality has given play-by- play and color commentary for Atlanta’s NBA team for 13 years. The night’s in-game recognition of Cameron, a two-time Emmy Award winner, will feature special halftime performances by Atlanta hip hop royalty, DJ Jelly, Fabo, and Kilo Ali.

“Ryan is ‘Mr. True to Atlanta’! His devotion to this city and our team is incredible,” said Steve Koonin, Atlanta Hawks and Philips Arena CEO. “We are excited to celebrate his many contributions to the Atlanta Hawks and our community on this special night. Ryan’s boundless energy and enthusiasm are a huge part of what make games at Philips Arena such a great experience.”

Cameron, an Atlanta native and graduate of the University of West Georgia, has been a force within the Atlanta media scene for more than two decades, wearing multiple hats including host, actor, comedian, and community advocate. His unique “For Threeeeee!!” exclamation can be heard at Philips Arena home games as well as on the NBA 2K17 video game.

When the Georgia Radio Hall of Fame inductee is not behind the mic, Cameron helms the The Ryan Cameron Foundation whose mission is “to provide Atlanta’s youth with the tools needed to empower them for their future leadership roles.”
