Building stronger communities starts with us! The Hawks and State Farm® are back at it and are teaming up with U.S. Hunger to combat food insecurity in Atlanta. Join us on July 16, 2022 as we pack 1 MILLION MEALS and make the assist to improve our community.

Every good neighbor that completes a volunteer shift will receive a voucher for a pair of free tickets to a select upcoming Hawks home game. Exact game dates will be available following the release of the 2022-23 season schedule.

Every meal packed will stay in the metro area, helping to feed Atlantans, many of whom are among the nearly 60% of local residents living 200% below the poverty level for a family of four.

FAQs

Who can participate in the event?
The Million Meal Pack event is free and open to the public.
Is there an age requirement?
Participants must be at least 5 years old by July 16, 2022.
I am differently abled. Can I still volunteer?
Everyone is invited to volunteer. There are accessible options that empower everyone to volunteer.
What are the shift options?
  • Shift 1: 8:00am-9:30am
  • Shift 2: 9:30am-11:00am
  • Shift 3: 11:00am-12:30pm
  • Shift 4: 12:30pm-2:00pm
  • Shift 5: 2:00pm-3:30pm
  • Shift 6: 3:30pm-5:00pm

Post-volunteer celebration! Following each shift, State Farm Drive will be the place to be with games, refreshments, music, and fun.

Can I sign up for multiple shifts?
Yes! You can sign up for multiple volunteer shifts.
How can I register as a group?
Send the general event registration link (hawks.com/mealpack) to your group asking each member to sign-up for a specific shift. Each volunteer in your group will need to sign up individually. Though there are no guarantees that a specific shift will accommodate all group members, be sure to communicate your desired shift to the group and recommend they sign up before the shift fills up. On event day, if you SHOW UP together, you will PACK together.
How far in advance of my shift should I plan to arrive?
Please plan to arrive a minimum of 15 to 30 minutes prior to your scheduled shift time. This will allow ample time for parking, arena entry, and check-in.
What is the deadline for signing up?
The deadline for signing up is 11:59pm on July 14, 2022. However, please register at your earliest convenience to ensure that you get your desired timeslot. Each shift will be closed once at capacity, even if the deadline has not passed.
Is specific attire required?
Closed-toed shoes are required, and comfortable clothing is recommended. In addition, no jewelry is permitted, except for wedding rings and medical bands. A hairnet and gloves will be provided on-site and are required to be worn at all times.
What are you current COVID-19 protocols?
Please visit statefarmarena.com for the most up to date State Farm Arena health and safety protocols.
Will I receive training on my role beforehand?
All volunteers will participate in a brief training prior to their meal pack shift(s).
Is parking free? Where can I park?
For your convenience, rideshare is highly recommended. If you are driving, parking is complimentary and provided in the Ruby and Sapphire Lots.
How will I get my free Hawks tickets as a thank you for participating?
In addition to a free volunteer t-shirt, you will receive a voucher good for two complimentary tickets to a select 2022-23 Hawks home game after you check-in at the event. Exact game dates will be available following the release of the 2022-23 season schedule.
Can I get a community service letter?
Yes. Should you need a community service letter, please request one when you check-in on the day of the event. Forms will be signed upon completion of your volunteer shift. If you do not have a form, one can be provided for you.
Where are the meals going?
Every packed meal will stay in the Atlanta community thanks to our partners at the Atlanta Community Food Bank, City of Refuge, Fountain of Hope, Goodr, Lost-n-Found Youth, Meals on Wheels Atlanta, Second Helpings, and the Veterans Empowerment Organization.

Along with packing one million meals, we hope the Million Meal Pack will inspire all volunteers to join the Hawks and State Farm in making the assist to fight food insecurity throughout the year.
What meals are being packed?
Volunteers will pack a nutritious Red Lentil Jambalaya that includes red lentils, long grain white rice, dehydrated vegetables, and pink Himalayan salt.
How can I help spread the word?
Share this page (hawks.com/mealpack) with your friends and family and ask them to sign-up today!
I have already registered as a volunteer but would like to add/change some information. How can I do this?

To make changes to your volunteer registration, please adhere to one of the following options:

  1. Go the registration page, scroll down and click ALREADY REGISTERED? CLICK HERE. This will take you to a separate page to create your volunteer account. Follow the prompts, log into your account, and edit your information. You can then resend yourself an updated confirmation email.
  2. Find your original volunteer email confirmation, scroll down to the bottom of the page, and click SET UP ACCOUNT NOW. This will take you to another page to create your volunteer account. Follow the prompts, log into your account, and edit your information. You can then resend yourself an updated confirmation email.

By logging into your volunteer account, you are only allowed to edit/modify your volunteer registration information. You will not be able to cancel your registration. If for any reason you need to cancel your registration, please email mealpack@hawks.com.
