Garin Narain has served as Executive Vice President & Chief Communications Officer for the Atlanta Hawks and State Farm Arena since 2012. Originally hired to develop and lead the communications strategy strictly for the Hawks Basketball Operations Team, his responsibilities were expanded in March of 2014 to include oversight of all the public relations efforts for the Hawks Corporate and State Farm Arena groups.
In his role, he serves as the primary media spokesperson for the organization, cultivating relationships with local and national media and creating internal communications plans across the marketing, revenue and community development/social responsibility platforms.
Prior to Atlanta, Narain held communications positions with the Cleveland Cavaliers. During his nine-year tenure, he led the development on the NBA's first team-run media services website and played an integral role in the publicity efforts of NBA all-stars LeBron James, Shaquille O'Neal and Kyrie Irving.
Narain attended the University of Florida, graduating with honors in 2002 with a B.A. in Psychology and earning a minor in General Education. He and his wife reside in Decatur and have two children.
