- Well, with four overtime games in the last seven home games the Hawks are helping the Highlight Factory live up to its name. This one followed a little different script as Al Horford decided to steal the spotlight. >Read more about Al's big night on the blog - Atlanta won despite the fact that their top-3 scorers shot just 35% from the field (20-of-57). Johnson, Crawford and Smith each had extended cold spells during the contest. - Atlanta finished the game with ZERO BLOCKED SHOTS for the first time this season. Their previous low was 2. Watching the Spurs play it is easy to understand how this could happen. Manu Ginobili is one of the best in the league at using his body to shield off defenders and Tim Duncan hits his 8-foot bank shots when most post players would take an extra dribble for a contested shot at the rim. - Marvin Williams' big first half should not be lost due to the dramatic finish. Marvin scored 18 points on 8-of-10 shooting and capped the half by stealing a pass with three seconds remaining and beating the buzzer with a 20-footer. His shot gave the Hawks their first lead since the game's opening minutes. - The halftime lead defied the statistics as the Spurs outshot Atlanta 58% to 46%. San Antonio shot 71% in the first quarter to rush out to the 33-22 lead. The Hawks used a 17-5 run in the second period to pull back even. - Jamal Crawford had a quiet first half before busting out in the third quarter with 10 of his 19 points on 3-of-3 shooting from the field. |
