About The Council
The Council is made up of internal and external members and is divided into three subcommittees focused on providing guidance in the areas of internal employee engagement, fan & community experience and strategic partnerships. The vision of the Hawks Diversity & Inclusion Council is to cultivate a city-wide network of Hawks-affiliated stakeholders to advance diversity and inclusion by transforming our work place and community into inclusive environments where individuals are valued for their talents and empowered to reach their fullest potential. The mission of our Council is to be both a resource and an advocate for the value of diversity and inclusion. The Council fosters an understanding of diversity and inclusion as a dynamic strategy for business success and community well-being through various initiatives.
It was important for us to have a cross-section of people represented from different areas in our market and different backgrounds, but who could all provide perspective on what will create a maximum positive experience for anybody who attends our games – or is part of our organization. This is the true definition of diversity & inclusion; this is what it is really about. It is about reaching out to the current community, reaching out to new and unexpected communities to say, “How can we make you feel wanted and valued?” It’s also about embodying the demographics we serve!
