The Memphis Grizzlies are partnering with Memphis Athletic Ministries (MAM) to offer the city’s premier holiday youth basketball tournament!

The Memphis Grizzlies have partnered with Memphis Athletic Ministries (MAM) to present the city’s longest-running holiday basketball tournament, the MAM Classic. Formerly known as the MAM Christmas Classic, the 2019 MAM Classic presented by the Memphis Grizzlies will take place starting tomorrow, December 17, and run through Saturday, December 21. This year’s tournament will feature the largest team turnout in the last six years with more than 100 teams and youth ranging from third grade through Junior Varsity.

The tournament will open on December 17 with three showcase games in the Built Ford Tough Practice Facility at FedExForum. Tomorrow’s games will feature the Highland Oak Owls vs. Christ Methodist Spirits (5th Grade Boys) at 5:30 p.m., the Houston Mustangs vs. ECS Eagles (8th Grade Girls) at 6:30 p.m. and the Lowrance Lions vs. Germantown Red Devils (8th Grade Boys) at 7:30 p.m. Admission for the showcase games inside FedExForum is free.

All other tournament games will be held in gyms throughout the Greater Memphis Area, including Briarcrest Middle School, Memphis Athletic Ministries, Second Presbyterian Church and Streets Ministries. The complete tournament schedule is available at www.mamsports.org/classic. Admission is $5 per day Tuesday through Friday (children 6 and under free) and $8 on Saturday (children 6 and under free). Championship games will be played at Briarcrest Middle School on Saturday, December 21. In addition to team trophies, prizes to be awarded include Grizzlies-branded Nike apparel for winning coaches, Grizzlies game tickets for Division MVP’s and other Grizzlies merchandise. Select tournament participants will also receive in-game recognition during “MAM Classic Night” at a future Grizzlies home game.
