Community Outreach

The Grizzlies are committed to positively impacting the community and frequently utilize youth basketball as a means to do so. Read about just a few of our community basketball programs below.

Police Athletic League

At the urging of Head Coach David Fizdale, who cited the program’s impact on his own upbringing, the Grizzlies recently launched a Police Athletic League in conjunction with the Memphis Police Department to foster positive relationships between law enforcement and local youth.

Basketball 101

In partnership with Shelby County Schools, the Grizzlies recently launched a P.E. program which combines basketball skills and classroom performance. The inaugural program concluded with a Skills Challenge finale at FedExForm and will return during the 2017-18 school year.

Court Refurbishments

The Grizzlies aim to provide safe venues for local residents to play and enjoy the game of basketball. Learn about one such court refurbishment at Halle Park, held during Jr. NBA Week and featuring “Core 4” players Mike Conley, Marc Gasol, Zach Randolph and Tony Allen.
