Grizzlies take Series against Blazers 4-1; Advance to Conference Semifinals

The Memphis Grizzlies defeated the Portland Trail Blazers with a 99-93 Game 5 win, advancing to the Western Conference Semifinals against the Golden State Warriors and earning their fourth postseason series victory in franchise history.

Marc Gasolled all Grizzlies scorers and tied his postseason single-game career high with 26 points on 9-of-15 shooting while grabbing 14 rebounds. Gasol has recorded at least 15-plus points, seven rebounds and one block in all five postseason games thus far. Courtney Lee contributed 20 points on 8-of-12 shooting, finishing the first round of the postseason with a .660 shooting percentage from the field. Lee scored at least 20 points twice in the series after doing so only once during the regular season.

The Grizzlies out scored the Trail Blazers 44 to 30 in the paint. Memphis also held Portland to under 100 points in four out of five games in this series, including tonight.

C.J. McCollum led the Trail Blazers and recorded a postseason and career-high 33 points on 12-of-20 shooting. McCollum set a team record for scoring off the bench in a playoff game surpassing Bill Ray Bates' 29 points on April 2, 1980 at Seattle. Memphis limited LaMarcus Aldridge to just 14 points on 5-of-18 shooting.
