Memphis Grizzlies announce festivities for October 25 Home Opener against the New Orleans Pelicans

Memphis Symphony Orchestra Performs National Anthem; Halftime Performance by Roller Skating Trapeze Artists Duo Transcend; Tickets Still Available at Grizzlies.com/tickets or Ticketmaster.com

Memphis, Tenn. – The Memphis Grizzlies will open the 2023-24 regular season at home next Wednesday, Oct. 25, at 7 p.m. as they face the New Orleans Pelicans at FedExForum. In addition to the start of a new season, fans will be treated to a full night of celebration for their favorite team, including the first 10,000 fans in attendance receiving a Grizzlies “Back to the Grind” T-Shirt. 

Opening night tickets are still available in the Big River Steel Terrace level, with limited availability on Plaza and Pinnacle levels. Fans can purchase tickets online at grizzlies.com/tickets, Ticketmaster.com, the FedExForum Box Office or by calling 1-800-4NBA-TIX.

The night will tip-off with a special National Anthem performance by the Memphis Symphony Orchestra, who will also assist special guest announcers during player introductions. Player introductions will also feature a guest performance by Memphian Lil Buck. Grizz fans are encouraged to stay in their seats during halftime as Duo Transcend takes center court with their roller-skating trapeze act. Ingame performances throughout the evening will include appearances from fan favorites Beale Street Flippers, Grizzlies Grannies and Grandpas, Grizz Girls, outfitted by Varsity Spirit, Blue Bunch, Grizzline, presented by AutoZone, Gary Goin on the House band and DJ Mic Tee.

Fans entering FedExForum through the grand lobby will enjoy music from DJ Mic Tee, along with sign making and tattoo stations. Fans who access the Big River Steel Terrace Level via the north escalator will immediately enter the tip-off party zone with DJ J-Mack, additional sign making, and a photobooth. Around the corner, near section 228, is a kid’s zone with arcade games and a tattoo station.  New this season is the terrace level’s very own Claw Crew.  Bringing the on-court action to our loudest fans, the terrace Claw Crew will hype the crowd, toss out prizes and get fans on their feet from tip-off until the streamers fall.  Prior to the game, the Grizzlies will unveil the new Big River Steel Garage Banner outside on the Big River Steel Plaza.  The Claw Crew will get a 24-hour jump on the opening-night activities with Street Corners across the city, giving fans the opportunity to win autographed items, tickets to the home opener and other Grizzlies prizes. Fans unable to attend the game at FedExForum can catch all the action live on Bally Sports Southeast, presented by FanDuel. The game will also be streamed live on BallySports.com, the Bally Sports app and Bally Sports+. The play-by-play voice of the Grizzlies, Pete Pranica, will call the game alongside analyst Brevin Knight, with Rob Fischer reporting courtside. Coverage on Bally Sports Southeast will begin at 6 p.m. with an extended Grizzlies LIVE pregame show, presented by Ford and your Mid-South Ford Dealers, broadcast live inside FedExForum. Fisher will host the pregame show alongside Knight and Grind City Media’s Chris Vernon.

In addition, fans can listen to game action on 92.9 FM ESPN Radio featuring play-by-play broadcaster Eric Hasseltine and analyst Elliot Perry. Pregame coverage, hosted by Jessica Benson, will begin at 6 p.m. Fans can also tune in to the game on their mobile devices through the official Grizzlies Mobile App.

FedExForum has implemented a clear bag policy that limits the size and types of bags that may be brought into the venue for all future events. Only clear bags made of plastic, vinyl or PVC no larger than 6x8x2 inches will be allowed inside FedExForum. Clear bags may not have an all-over print or decoration that prohibits full view of its contents. The clear bag may contain a strap, but metal or chain straps are prohibited.
