The Memphis Grizzlies defeated the New Orleans Pelicans 132-111 on Friday at FedExForum.
The Grizzlies outscored the Pelicans, shooting 51.6% from the field and 47.4% from 3-point range, compared to the Pelicans’ 43% from the field and 32.3% from beyond the arc.
Dillon Brooks led the Grizzlies with 25 points, and Ja Morant followed with 23 points and 11 assists, posting his fourth double-double of the season. Jaren Jackson Jr. finished with 20 points and four rebounds, while Steven Adams posted his sixth double-double of the season with 15 points and 11 rebounds. Brandon Clarke added 12 points and 10 rebounds, and David Roddy scored 11 points off the bench.
Trey Murphy III led the Pelicans with 21 points off the bench, and Zion Williamson followed with 14 points and five rebounds. Herbert Jones finished with 13 points, while Naji Marshall and Dyson Daniels posted nine points each.
Memphis led New Orleans 44-25 after the Grizzlies posted their highest scoring first quarter of the season. Despite an 11-3 run by the Pelicans in the second quarter, the Grizzlies increased their lead, leading 68-48 at the half. Memphis shot 50% from the field and 52% from 3-point range in the first half.
The Grizzlies continued to dominate in the third quarter behind a 22-8 run, reaching their largest lead of the night at 36 points with 3:17 remaining in the quarter. Memphis led New Orleans 106-77 going into the final quarter.
